Default need help programming my MSD 7531 box

I am trying to set gear retard curves and I just cannot figure out how to set the curve. I can move the timing line up and down on the graph but I cannot change the timing at different rpm. What am I doing wrong?

the rpm points are at the top of the graph, the retard degrees are on the left side.
there is a screen that shows which gear is active. the line for first gear is black, second gear is pink.
find your point on the graph that you want to place a dot. right click and a window will pop up.
select "add dot" left click.
if you are using this function for a starting line aid you will only plot a graph for low gear (black line).
if you are using it as a high gear retard you will need to use it on the pink line for a glide or for the third line (sorry i don't remember that color) for a th400.
remember to "save to pc" before you name the tune-up.
there is also a line in the set-up tree that determines the amount of rpm drop to get to the next gear retard line. make sure you have the proper rpm entered there, not enough and the retard will cancel itself. too much and the retard will not cancel when you shift.
good luck.

Thank you!
One question I have set the rpm drop at 400 knowing that if it is to much it wont recognize the gear change but I dont understand what you mean by "not enough and the retard will cancel itself".

just make sure it is at least around 200-300 rpm. if you launch and the converter flashes and then "rolls over" or pulls the motor down a hundred rpm or so the box can see this as a gear change and cancel the retard in low gear.

I just have Headmen 2" headers for the car, mufflers I went with 3.5 Pypes Pro Race and the converter is a 9" from Continental. Rim and tires I have not gotten yet and not quite sure what I will get. There are things I want to change/do but the money tree is bare right now so i have to make due with what I have.

Jack there is such a thing as an ignor button. Instead of thrashing this very imformative thread with your BS. We all can learn how to dial in 7531 box. Your just piss because I was right. I know a few guys who use it for the same reason I have. Now your calling anyone who dose it a moron.
