Was it a “440 power plant , has cop tires, cop shocks, and cop suspension, and a model before catalytic converters so it runs good on regular gas” ?

LOL
It was a "lean burn" 440 which I deleted, re-jetted the Carter Thermo Quad Carb and installed a "Direct Connection Mopar distributor" .
Also had factory bucket seats, the good flowing cast iron exhaust manifolds, dual exhausts, certified 140mph speedo, it was an unmarked Oregon State Trooper vehicle. Ice cold AC.
Those seats were special factory seats cushions were spec for Trooper cars.
Most comfy I've ever owned, maybe a tie with my 80 Firebirds Velour front buckets.

Saw this nice square short bed this morning. Poor pictures of a good looking truck.

I remember our town of Latrobe got 440 cop cars back in 60s, for in town use! Running really rich sitting at light!

At the Bradley's Piggly Wiggly yesterday. For anyone that's familiar with the "Stranger Things" series, this store is apparently prominently featured in it.
Has nothing to do with the car though. For us it's just an old family owned grocery store.

Wow. That's just like the '50 Mercury my parents had back in the mid 50s. Dad had a set of Lake Pipes and Moons on it.
I vaguely remember it, but mom still has a few photos

I didn't think there were any uncut 49-51 Mercurys' left!

My first impression was that it was a Hudson. Like you said, you just don't see unmodified Mercurys with that body style.

IMO was too nice to be a daily driver but kind of stood out in a local parking lot...

Seen on Saturday out in the canyons.

Oh that was me.

And my friend Mike following me in his 914-6. He was part of a crew of 5 helpers I enlisted to lift my ‘57 bug body shell onto my truck so I could get it home from the shop that did all of the sheet metal repairs.

Not a factory 6-cylinder car but a very nice conversion running a 3-liter making very sweet music.

Are those Vette wheels on the pickup?

I spied this nice 37 Chevy in Hollywood today.

Yes.

1984 Corvette 16x8.5 shod with 205/50-16 Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 tires.

Wheels were purchased for $200 complete with caps and lugs back in 1988 out of the Recycler newspaper, back when that was how you found your cars and parts. The wheels were installed back in 1988.

No spacers or adapters were used, just good old fashioned machine work and some suspension and brake mods utilizing VW parts along with some luck made them fit. No body mods like rolling the lips or anything like that were done to shoehorn them in, the wheel width and backspacing just happened to be perfect.
