I will say it's a huge tragedy from the entire junior hockey world and team sports in general.

These kids 16-21 live a dream and endure these bus rides to venues on a daily basis.

The fact that it happened to a junior hockey team hits me the hardest as I sent my son to play in the Ontario hockey league.

The Canadian junior like the American junior hockey is open to all players from around the world. These are kids that parents let the hockey team provide housing, food, education, equipment, and transportation for nothing more than a dream.

So sad for the kids, their families, and the entire organization!

It's horrible. 28 people on the bus with 14 confirmed dead so far. Still more details coming in but it sounds like the bus was t-boned by a semi truck.

Thoughts for all.

It's hard to imagine. They were on top of the world living their dream, playing and winning, going to another play off game. Then this happens, so brutal. I hope the survivors and families can eventually find some comfort and peace.

Crazy how life changes in an instant...

Young men living the dream and then the death / serious injury to virtually all of them.

Can't imagine what they're going through.

So sad indeed. With all the time amateur players and lower level pros spend on buses and the pros spend on planes its a wonder that this horrific tragedy doesn't happen more often.

Not a pretty picture...
The front 15 feet of the bus is completely gone.

I am just watching the vigil live on CBC. So incredibly sad, and a parents worst nightmare.

My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone involved in this horrible tragedy.

Hug your kids.

Was not a good weekend. I feel sorry for the Parents, I would not know how to cope with this kind of thing. The whole country is feeling this loss, and along with this my Daughter lost a good friend as well on Friday. 30 years old and snow mobile accident takes his life.
Hug the ones you love cuz you just never know what tomorrow may bring.
