67 Catalina - Heater Controls Question
New to me 67 blows heat out of the floor vent continuously. The 'Select' knob is set to OFF and it doesn't matter what position I put it in - still blows heat out of the floor vent. Cannot find a fan speed control anywhere on the dash - just the Select and Temperature knobs.
I see there's a vacuum actuator on the side of the heater box, and it is hooked up but I've not checked vacuum. Heat out the floor vent only tells me it's probably not working. Has to be something I'm missing or a starting point to troubleshoot....

Hi Mark
Sorry, I can't help you with what's wrong with the heater in your Cat. But, I recently saw a Youtube video that somewhat explained how and why the heater controls work on a 1966 Catalina. Very similar to your 67 Look up on Youtube, Rare Classic Cars ... The perfect family car.. 1966 Pontiac Catalina Go to 3:07 on the video and listen to the explanation. Again, sorry I couldn't post the link. I have no clue how to do that. Maybe this will help? Good luck my friend |
