1964 GTO Tripower convertible at $39K BIN in Kentucky. Looks like a great deal. That's a very cool car.

If you did some front end work on bidding for the car and it turned out something was wrong, then you could justifiably get out of it. People get away with "my wife said no" excuses. If you want in the hobby, this is a very cool car and you'd have a leap of faith (BIN) to put a down payment on it and fly out and get it done in person.

That really is a screaming deal. Only an hour from me. They say low miles. That is minor bodywork.

Seems like a fair price for the '55. I'd love to have one of those.

That car has some issues. I conversed with the seller and there's some issue with the Carfax mileage and what sounds like a transmission problem. Still a good deal IMO and he's very upfront about everything. You can only go so low before you're just buying junk and this is a reasonable price for this car IMO. I'd undo all the stupid stuff done to this car and replace the clutch. A little body work and it's a really pretty car. If you've never owned a bright yellow hot rod (Mine was at 17 yellow 78 Camaro), it's a little different experience, because the color is so in your face and these cars are seldom seen... even has Ram Air and a stick.

Here's one in mint shape and a comparison to a 78 Z28 Camaro. Lots of bling on both of them. The only thing I really don't like is the split grill on the 2002 in the scoop.

I agree. That baby blue interior is so different it would really pop when done right.

Well, I've managed to not post in this thread until now. 69 Firebird, needs a couple hacks reversed (missing cocktail shakers and A/C compressor, Chebbie 10-bolt axle) but it has a couple of the rarest options - power seat and speed minder speedometer.

I've been watching this car for 20 years. It has a green top, just like my 69 Champagne 350HO convertible. In Limelight green with that green top it's stunning. Too bad we don't know how many green top 69 converts were made?

That looks like a good mate for North's new 69 OHC convertible?

I'm in agreement.. this car is gorgeous to me and the green top may not be common but really works with that color. It's a shiny object for sure... The light and photography make the body lines pop too.

I agree. I think this is the car you Photoshopped into Champagne. Regarding color selection on hobby cars, unless you have the NOM drive train, it really doesn't mean much. The outdated notion that you have to stick with the "born with" colors is not valid anymore. That green top is a stunner and it costs a lot to have a green or blue top put on, because it's a one-of-one custom job. It's not cheap, but looks so retro cool when done right.

I have a 69 Firebird convertible 4-speed 350 HO posi car in Palladium Silver with a black interior that supposedly has 54K on it. It was found in a restoration shop where the owner couldn't pay for the work, so it stopped. No engine, trans or front end came with the car, but a bunch of NOS parts did. The interior is mint and the bodywork is crap, so new quarters. One would think I'd just paint it silver and use the interior which is mint... nope.

This car is missing its engine and transmission, but has it's born with 3:55 posi. I have a complete #'s correct 1969 WN #48 heads 350HO engine that's been rebuilt down to the original carb, along with a 69 Firebird 4 speed M20 transmission in good shape, and a M20 transmission completely rebuilt with M21 parts I could use? Would I want to use the M21 with a 3:55 posi? Only mod I'll do is long branch manifolds. I'm going to paint it white with a red interior. I'll keep the original interior, but I'll pick the colors based on what I would have ordered new.

Example:

Here's a cool one... 66 GTO at $21.5K BIN OBO in NY. If I had this car I'd buff it out as best I could and get it running really good. The patina is perfect.

You very rarely see stuff like this one. 1933 Pontiac 5 window coup at $24K with a reserve in ND. A novelty for sure, but what a cool car.

Check out the wood around the inner windows.
