Muncie 3spd input/tail housing
I thought I mentioned it here, but if I did, the thread is gone.
I am on the hunt for a two parts for a passenger car 1969-1974 Muncie "330" three speed manual transmission... well on the hunt for one part, and casually looking for the second part. 1) a "car" input shaft; This is the final key piece I need to convert my spare Muncie 330 as a spare to my 100% correct transmission. GM part number: 3932210 Borg Warner* part number: AWT306-16 This part is differentiated from the "truck" gear by two things: a) this has a single machined identifier ring groove in the input splines (the "truck" gear has no identifier ring). b) has a gear tooth count of 21. This image is of my transmission, you can clearly see the identifier ring on the left side: 2) a "car" with floor shifter tail housing; I actually have one on my spare Muncie 330, but the speedo cable gear retainer bolt hole has been drilled oversized, and tapped at a bad angle, so I am more casually looking for this one... The tail housing I am looking for can be identified two ways: a) provisions to mount a shifter b) speedo cable gear opening is on the right side (opposite of the side the shifter mount is). This image is of the correct tail housing (taken from an older thread I created here) * = this was an aftermarket service replacement listing I have found, not to be confused as a Borg Warner three speed part. I listed this here, because ALOT more 70-74 Tempest, LeMans, and GTO's were built with this transmission than Firebirds; Thanks for looking!!

thanks;
On the merits of the last picture, that is a Saginaw transmission. This is a saginaw three speed side cover (notice the top/centre bolt boss): This is a 1969-1976(?) Muncie three speed side cover (notice the two off centre bolt bosses): Thanks for posting a reply though

just affirming what I'm looking for
I am still looking for a "car" main drive gear, but I recently came to realize I need one more part:
Need: 1) Main drive gear: GM #3932210 / BW #AWT306-16 Notes: has single identifier groove/ring and a 21 tooth count on the big end. 2) Mainshaft second gear: GM #3911962 / BW WT306-11A Notes: left hand 27 tooth count Wanted: 3) Tail housing: casting number 3911942 (has provisions for mounting shifter) Again, I may entertain buying a whole transmission depending on location or shipping. Thanks in advance to anyone who might check to see if they have any of these parts.

Because I looked up this thread just now to confirm a part number against an eBay item, and because the PDX swap meet is cancelled for a second year now in a row, I decided that a nine month bump couldn't hurt.
Need: 1) Main drive gear: GM #3932210 / BW #AWT306-16 Notes: has single identifier groove/ring and a 21 tooth count on the big end. 2) Mainshaft second gear: GM #3911962 / BW WT306-11A Notes: left hand 27 tooth count Wanted: 3) Tail housing: casting number 3911942 (has provisions for mounting shifter)

as of today my search for Muncie-330 three speed parts is over.
I had created a Kijiji listing this past spring, and a gent from Ontario (Canada) who is not a member here, and who used to own a 1972 Lemans GT-37 reached out to me; As it happens, (and if my memory serves me) he did a five speed swap, and although he had no intent to sell, he was offered too much to refuse and let his car go; The buyer didn't want the three speed, and suggested he toss it. Thankfully he didn't and several months after initiating contact (I was in no giant rush after all) it has landed in my garage - thanks in large part to the help of a friendly PY'er who goes by 'Starlightblack'. So I now have two complete "B" gear set Muncie three speeds, as well as one "A" code Muncie three speed that can be used in a car - so looking for more parts at this time would seem to be rather silly. Thanks for anyone along the way that has helped me with information, or lending a hand in one way or another - I am very appreciative of it all. I hope to be as helpful to other members in the future.
