Question Help, anyone in/near Wilmington, Ohio?

My sister in law is out of town in Wilmington with a 2002 Toyota Sequoia with a knocking engine noise and said to have a spun bearing. Vehicle is at West End Garage on Main St.

My brother is wondering what to do and thinking of scrapping it and was told by the guy at West End that he has a guy that would give $250. Is this the going rate up there?

This is a Florida rust free vehicle, currently registered in SC, everything works but the engine is now bad.

Anyone need an excellent parts car or know of a higher paying junk yard?

She is up there for some horse event and my brother is going to pick her and the trailer up, but just wondering about the Sequoia.

Thanks, DanC

Thumbs up Cartoons Auto Salvage a most honest business!

For what it's worth to anyone else needing help in/around Wilmington...

My brother agreed to sell the Sequoia to Cartoons for $450, then when they got it to there shop/yard the mechanic there said "let me hear that again". Turned out to be a blown out spark plug. He installed a used spark plug. Then called my brother and told him what do you want to do? I can't let you sell this for salvage. So my brother went back up there and drove the Sequoia back to SC!

Talk about honesty!!! Kudos to this businessman at Cartoons and God bless ya!!!!!

Makes you wonder about the mechanic at the West End garage who said it had a spun bearing...seems like a blown out spark plug should have been easy to see.

Yep...I might advise people to steer clear of West End also. Seems like due diligence should have been done prior to offering $250 for a blown out spark plug, or perhaps it was already known. I'd hate to think that though...
