Default Dipstick tube question

I've got a 69 compressor mount on my 68 GTO because I like the easier access to the spark plug ... anyone know if I can (or should) use a 69 upper dipstick tube instead of the 68 I have on it now?

Reason I ask is I found an NOS upper tube for 69 AC V8s and I thought it might fit better since I'm using a 69 AC mount.

I do however have a re-pop lower tube installed ... not sure if that messy up this plan.

I have the stock upper dipstick assy from a 72 AC system. I think the length is all the same but there might be a difference in the screw mount tab due to Aluminum AC bracket vs stamped steel.

Yep the mounting hole is what I was wondering about, I am using the large 68 Aluminum front AC mount, and the 69 lower pivot mount.
