Default Remote battery change

My '06 GTO key remote signal seems to be getting weak. Has anyone ever changed the battery? I loosened the two philips screws and the key came out but I was very leery of prying open the case. It was very tight and I didn't want to break it. Any ideas? Thanks, Peter

Looks like you have to replace the whole fob, internal battery that cannot be replaced. I only read the first few posts so it may say later on that this is not true...happy reading!
