Default Tire pressure specs

What would the tire pressure setting be for front and rear on a 67 Lemans? Stock suspension.

Sidewall only gives you the MAXIMUM tire pressure. The tire manufacturer has no what kind of car you are putting their tires on.

Based on modern tire technology vs the old bias ply that these cars came with - I'd look at about 10 - 20% over the factory recommendations - not to exceed the pressure rating on the sidewall.

Definitely, if going with reproduction bias-plys, go with the posted pressure in the trunk or the door. If you are going radial, go 30-32 psi as a start point and work from that area.

knowing the max is all one needs.
Even the old decal list a "recommended" pressure.
Old tires Vs new tires should not apply here unless someone is running NOS tires.
New Re-pops have a different compound so I would still suggest SEE SIDE WALL.
My radials list 44 max but prefer 36+-(1)
It will really depend on tire/car/driver.

As has been mentioned; if you're not running bias plys, then you should completely ignore the factory specs.

Ditto. The sidewall is a Govt Test Pressure that dictates that particular tire is good enough to hold a certain load at that pressure. Look at the max load at max pressure. When they build the tire, they have no idea of the load that will be on it, (weight of car)
thats why the OEM has the recommended tire presure on a decal for every car. So that the tire wears evenly and gives good traction. Over inflated tires wear the middle out more than the edge. If you are using the correct pressure the tread will be straight across.

i monitor the "dirt marks" on the tread area. using the edge of the tread as a reference point, if they creap towards the center of the tread, i let out air, if more dirt shows on sidewall then i add air. i have found the weight varies from corner to corner/front to back. i get a good wear pattern using this option.
