Took this $8k this beater 69 Vette two weeks ago. Hadn’t and wouldn’t run in last 8 years. Spent less than $500 going through her. New battery. Rebuilt carb. Cleaned out fuel system. MMO to free stick rings and lifters. Valve lash and tune. Wash. Delivering Monday for $18500. Turned out to be a built 400 SBC with all the goodies and a Muncie 4 speed. A win for everyone! DO IT!

take a trip over to Vintage Mustang Forum. https://www.vintage-mustang.com/foru...tang-forum.62/

Scroll through a few pages, and it readily apparent the price of mustangs (actually all muscle/pony/60-70) is way up. Assuming this is not a total bondo buggy, $7,500 would be a good purchase.

The make or break on this car will be rust!!! Some of which will likely be hidden!

I went to an all mustang show yesterday. There was a 66 coupe, v8 in nice restored condition. It was for sale, asking price $22K.

Depending on how clean you can get it and assuming its original interior and paint there is a value added for that. I still think you may sit on it awhile if you are much over $20k.

I believe I'm going to go jack it up and look underneath today. Maybe try a battery and some gas down the carb. I'd be happy as a pig in chit if I could get 15k for it afterwards.

Well. Absolute worst case, we’re all blindsided. I still see more than $7500 in parts. You really can’t find a way to lose on this one as long as you don’t set it ablaze…. Like I did.

...as mentioned ...check the shock towers. Also the cove trim is missing...is that because there was body work/bondo.

I passed on the Mustang. It might be worth 7500 to someone but not to me. Floor boards has been goobered up and not even close to properly done. The car is far from a basket case but there's just not enough meat left on the bone for me. I may be wrong but that's how I see it so I told her good luck with the sale.

Hard to tell what was done with those floors. That’s a lot of undercoating or fiberglass. Good call leaving it for the next guy.

Yeah $7500 for that is top dollar unless the floors were good they can be an absolute nightmare w floor pans and toque boxes total can of worms. Unless you know how bad the rust is or repair work. . Nice car been looking for one for my daughter but floor work sucks especially on stangs.
