Since the Victor looks like it has at least a 1/2" "spacer" cast into it they must have dropped the plenum floor on the Northwind to keep that much plenum depth. Otherwise sure looks like a milled down Victor to me.

I can give you plenum depth on a M/T cross ram too if you want it

I would say it's the Victor jr for Pontiacs but not from our friends at Edelbrock.

I heard there isn't enough meat without welding to install it on tall 2.3"+ ports. is that right?

PLEASE NOTE that these are my measurements and not official data. I never measured my ported North Wind before I installed it.I will have more photos posted(HOPEFULLY at a size that is useful).
Well...I'm not completely done measuring since I nearly froze my fingers off in the garage (it's 4 below zero here right now) but the Northwind is 1-1/8" taller in the front than a Torker 2......

Only reason I bring this up is because I don't have a lot of extra room for hood clearance and I just pulled off my Torker 2 and 1/2" spacer and was hoping they were close.......now I hafta figure out if I can fit another 3/8" or how much shorter an air filter I can run without choking off the carb....where is WFO Larry when I need him??..haha

Hammertime, with your height measurement, did you measure side-by-side with the manifolds on the bench or on the engine?

Ponjohn, you're about right if you meant the Torker 2 is .650 shorter

One other thing to consider for those with hood clearance issues is the slope of the carb pad....there isn't any with the Northwind (or the Victor, for that matter) like there is with the factory and other aftermarket manifolds....part of the reason I measured from the front......

I had to take additional pictures and measurements to more accurately document my findings of the comparison of the North Wind and Torque II intake manifolds. Things to keep in mind - these are my measurements (not the official documentation from edelbrock and Kauffman Racing Equipment).Hopefully this will clear up any confusion.

The T2 has an angled flange. I believe this is to keep the carborator level (engine sits at an angle.. lower in the rear). The angle of the T2 Flange, is in reference to a varified level surface, is approximately 4 degrees.

The North Wind flange is level.

The T2 plenum depth is deeper in the rear and shallower in the front due to the angled flange. (doesn't seem to be optimum).
The T2 plenum depth is approximately 3.858 deep in the rear and 3.660 deep in the front (difference in depth is a result of the angled flange)

The NW plenum depth basically uniform at 3.735

Note: plenums of both manifolds are "as cast" and can vary +/- a few thoudands of an inch.
Note: One thing to understand is that the NW flange is centered on the ports making it balanced. The T2 the flange is off set to the rear making the runner appear shorter compared to it's front runners. The offset to the rear is approximately 1.0625 off center.
