Default Canton 15-444 and Doug's D523

Hey Guys I've run into a potential problem and would like to ask the knowledge base if the Canton Road Race 15-444 pan will fit while using Doug's D523 Headers on a 71 Firebird. I'm about ready to install everything but I'm in a borrowed shop with little time so if I need to modify anything now would be the time rather than in a hurry later. Thanks in advance!

With the 2” tube size of those headers I would have to doubt it would be a drop in no mod situation!

I have the Canton road race pan in a 1969 firebird with the Doug's 2" headers. The dipstick tube will not go on.

The headers kissed the t-sump part on the passenger side too (noted though by Canton that it would).

I use the Canton 450 Road race pan with 2" Hookers no problems. Yopu can get a stock dipstick to work if you drill a hole in their baffle

Yep mine is different no kick outs but it had to be modified to take a stock dipstick. Look at the larger hole in the bottom of the pan tray -it is extra where factory dipstick hit it, try the pan no tray first and if there is a recess that can work.

Yeah not going the stock dipstick route... told Canton they failed putting the bung in at an angle in their t-sump pan - no need. Vertical would be perfect. Their engineers dropped the ball as there is no way their pan mounted dipstick will clear any set of headers.
