Default 1965 Lemans in Coolidge Arizona

Heard about an old Lemans in Coolidge Arizona so I took a drive down there. It is sitting in a yard with a bunch of other old cars just rotting away. The Lemans is a 65 with a GTO hood, red primer and looks like it has been there for years. I knocked on the door of this OLD trailer that was on the property and asked if it was for sale. The man said it belonged to his nephews friend or something. I asked if I could go over and take a better look at it and he said no.................another car just going to sit and rot away. I got a picture of it on my phone, if I can figure out how to post it I will.

Found these in texas one day. Talk about a true Barn find. all 64-67 GTOS and a few SS convertible Chevelles. Guy said most of them were convertibles or tripowers. Wasn't lying. Didnt even get any pictures of the ones in front just shot a few pics of the ones in the back. Most of had 18-20 cars.

Just saw this thread and thought I would add another story.
About fours years ago, I was told of 3 Pontiacs on a farm. Drove out to look at them. Sitting outside was a white '67 GTO(plates show 1978) complete car. Inside the shed was a Blue '67 LeMans on blocks(no rust) very complete car. Also inside the shed was a Brown '65 LeMans Convert. with the top down. The '65 was all there and original.
I tried contacting the owner several times. Does not answer door or the phone.
Out of curiosity, I stopped there last year to see if they were still there. Apparently the '67 GTO was in the wrong spot on the yard. The loader of a tractor was used to PUSH it to a new spot. The front bumper, grill, and hood are now damaged.
Found out this past summer that the guy won't sell and won't talk about the cars. Too bad.

Default Can find them, Can't get owner to sell

I am in small town South Carolina, USA. Barn, field, garage "finds" are pretty easy. I haev found 66 GTO, Ford Mustangs by the truck load, 71 Formula, SS Chevelles, Ford Falcons, Trans Ams, even a very good shape late 70's Nissan 280Z, I know a ricer but damn fine vehicles when restored. However, it seems impossible to get the owners to part with them. Used to be my sons car, was my fathers, gonna work on it one day, aliens dropped it for the mother ship, I think its possesed by the spirit of a dead man, I actually heard that one. I never have understood why someone would rather watch it rot. ANy similar situations with you guys?

Yeah, no kidding. I did see a 1968 GTO recently that looked like it had been pulled from a barn. Had about n inch of dust on it and was actually being driven.

After picking up the car a couple weeks ago, I figure it was hit in the drivers front. The fender is different, the tire is cut, and the radiator support was slightly bent in that corner. The hood is real nice though so I'm thinking it was a light hit.

Mine sat in a barn for 12 years till a strong thunderstorm blew it down. Then it sat in a field next to several other GTOs. It had amazingly little rust but the beach ball sized mouse nest that came out of the inside kinda made up for it. It was raining hard the day I loaded it on a trailer. Got stuck trying to leave. That was 6 years ago. Went by there last week and all the other cars are still there. What a shame. They are in rural Mn. south of Luverne.

Here are some cars that i found outside of barns, crappy garages, fields, etc. i parted and scrapped all of these over the past 5 years. The 64 went to Steve Snyder in Indiana.

SDX455:

I have seen that story all over (mostly car sites on) the internet. Some say stolen, some say owner left them for new owner, some say owner died.

May be a urban legend.

Still kinda interesting to see them.

I finally found my first barn find worth mentioning. I found a 70 GTO at an abandoned farm place in south eastern rual south dakota. Its dark blue with a white top and white stripes on the sides. Not judge stripes. It looks like stripes the dealer put on to accent the white top. The engine is gone and the ram air scoops are gone. There is a transmisson. The rear end is also there. The interior is complete but dirty as hell. I lifted up the cheap seat covers and the seats dont look too bad. If anyone here is from that area by chance or wants to travel to the area, let me know and I will give you directions and last known name to live on the place according to the plat map. Wish I would have had my camera along.

Is it a Ram Air car or are you just talking about the hood scoop inserts?
