pontiac 400 in a 65 gmc
I need some advice on mounting my 70 400 in the 65GMC frame. If someone has done it, I would appreciate some direction. It looks like I'll have to fabricate the frame brackets to mate up with the engine mounts. I noticed that in the truck catalogs that you can buy mounts that fit the ls engine but so far haven't found anything Pontiac. Didn't the 55 GMC trucks have the Pontiac engine as an option? All halp and advice isnappreciated. Bill

Yes, '55-59 GMC trucks (100-500 series) had a Pontiac V8 option. But that won't help you much, since they all had two bellhousing mounts and a single front mount.
Fabricating two front mounts for the 400 in your truck should be straightforward. There's a forum for '60-66 GMC trucks, but I haven't visited it.
