Default Hard starting warm

I had the 350 heads put on my 403 a while ago. Now it starts normally but if I stop and start it when its warm, it feels like the battery's almost dead. It struggles to turn the engine over. Eventually it does and runs fine but what is causing that? I've heard that I need new battery cables, it had to do with the valves being done and they will "loosen up"(I can't remember exactly what he said) and even I need a new starter. Any tips?
Thanks

Start with the basic stuff and get more complex. First make sure you re installed all the ground wires when you replaced the heads. Add some temporarily with jumper cables to see if it seems to help. etc
