Default computer help

so I have an older ASUS tower AMD A8-5500 APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics 3.20 GHz,4.00 GB (3.45 GB usable),64-bit operating system, x64-based processor with Windows 10 on it...the ram is one stick ASint DDRIII4gb-1600....I want to speed this up a bit if possible can i add another stick to this , or change out this one with 2 bigger ones ????….. there is another slot just like where this stick currently sits and what is compatable with this ...if we need a pic of the board i can get it i have no side cover on it at the moment....thanks Chris

If you can identify the motherborad, you should be able to find it's memory specs on line. In general you should be able to add a matching stick with no problems. Before you get carried away, you need to know the max memory your boars supports. Boards have the id info imprinted on them. Good luck.

Hmm so I can get 2 ……8 GB sticks now I see there is BUFFERED and UNBUFFERED ram …which do I want…no idea what is in it….

Lol what is non ecc...since it's oldd looking for something decent is crucial good I know Kingston Is.probably the standard???? Sorry not very computer savvy with what will fit this thing

Best way to speed it up is to install a SSD drive instead of a old type spinning drive.
I like the Samsung units.
It will make a huge improvement if you don't have one.

This computer is really limited for how much I use ( mostly I pad like right now, convenience) it’s for car stuff some pics and other odds and ends I’m looking for the easiest option at my computer capabilities I ordered some ram last nite for like $50….but thanks for heads up if I ever I guess do anything else with it….

So what would I need to do if I change hard drive to ssd with all the stuff I have on the hard drive that's in there now.....like windows 10, pics, resumes etc.....this sound like an interesting add on maybe ????? Like I said I'm notthat computer savvy....or take it to someone

Yes, have someone at your local computer shop do it if u lack the skills or possible a local kid that's a computer geek.
It will be worth the effort.
