I do not think they will be hot sellers. The original honeycombs are way cooler...IMHO.

I'm into the G-Machine/ Pro-touring thing, but I wouldn't put those 18s on my 'Bird- they just don't have the depth of the OEM Honeycombs. I would have liked them if Year One had made them to look like 17" and 18" versions of the originals, but they missed the mark there.

The ride height, wheel fittment, and awesome Brewster Green paint on the T/A make 18" wheels look perfect to me- just picture the 18" CCW rims from Evan's Project Spiltter Firebird instead.

those wheels look frickin' awesome too, have somewhat the classic snowflake look to 'em:

Here's the cool deal for those wanting factory type CAST snowflakes in a 17" inch without the big BILLET price tag.
I'm ordering a set of these for sure. Hard to beat the price of $169 each.

Interesting to see the late 70's WS6 Snowflakes offered in repro at an affordable price.

Has anybody actually seen these or are they just the typical "catalog filler" that these these guys like to tease us with but NEVER seem to have in stock?

Larry,
Thanks for posting that link- a very nice deal on those rims. I actually used to run 15 x 7 snowflakes on my 'Bird, the first upgrade I made coming off of 14 x 6 Honeycombs.

Yes I think so to. Better grab a set before somebody at Year one changes their mind.

Gotta chime in on this one...like one of the guys already posted, I'm already old...it seems to me that they have a whole bunch of little Japanese cars that are just made for putting on oversize wheels...huge rear spoilers...and big ole' tomato can mufflers hanging out the back end...whatever else crappola they can find to hang on to make a little "#?*!" box of a car look cool...leave me and my "old" cars alone...

I like the original Honeycombs and also like the pro-touring movement very much as well.....My solution was to have custom rims made for my 70 Formula Pro-touring project....I hope to have the first rim centers done Saturday all things equal and the rims are planned to be 17"/8.5" for the front and 17"/10.5" for the back. This size rim with the spec'd offset will allow me to run 255 and 275 Hoosier DOT street radials on the car without any body modifications what-so-ever (even with the cars ride height lowered approximately 2-3 inches,,, I have adjustable coil overs) and the rear springs are being addressed when the rims and tires are mounted)

Instead of constructing in the heavy old Polycast fashion, I chose to build them as a three piece rim in Aluminum. Who knows if there is enough interest I may consider doing a limited run of rims for other Poncho enthusiast....

Norwood I just thought the timing was appropriate given the thread and I'm supposed to be seeing the first set carved Saturday (have my doubts Easter and all,,, but I should see them early next week at any rate).....

I brought the 70 Formula home today and plan to slowly chip away at the re-assembly of that cars interior and drive line.....

Did I hear/read somewhere that somebody is going to make an ALLOY version/copy of the OEM 15 x 7 Honeycomb?

my guess would be year one, they are doing a lot for firebirds/transams lately. perhaps the t/a & bird is going to be the next 'fashion' after years of chargers, challengers and cuda's....even the mustang has lost popularity the last few years....

Very interesting

Looks like the stock center caps will work, will there be trim rings....or will it just be a polished lip ?
