my engine has solid mounts and a midplate. i dont expect it to move ever. the flex joints are just for heat expansion. but yes if i didnt have solid mounts i would have mounted it to the engine. i have to make a temporary mount for the dyno

Turbine Wheel Inducer ( mm ) - 101mm
Turbine Wheel Exducer ( mm ) - 91mm
Turbine Inlet Flange - T-6
Turbine Housing Outlet - 5 Inch V-Band

My A/R is 1.08

We have the comp map for it I believe, its still available. Its an older TV84 unit and will flow around 93lbs/min. Not a good flowing wheel and spools slow. Also its an older flat back wheel which is hard to find any upgrades for as well."

(Is your Turbo Specs similar??)

Still 93 lbs per minute times 10.5 hp per lb of air per minute = 976 hp. Almost a 1000 hp at the engine for your set-up.

Tom Vaught

ps John Welter had a 106mm Turbo and went 6.80s in the quarter, how fast do you want to go 440GP69?
looks similar except mine has 1.32 a/r

What head gaskets are you running and I'm sure you've got a wideband in a pillar to monitor everything right?

not real sure of timing . just gonna start low and work my way up. i have a programmable digital7 with boost retard so it will be very adjustable. i have cometic head gaskets and yes i have a wideband. i also have a msd knock alert for it .

Hope you do NOT do something stupid like removing the oil feed line to the turbo to check for oil flow. A Guy I knew burned up a turbo as he read in Hugh MacInnis book to check for proper oil flow to the turbo by disconnecting the line. DO NOT DO THIS.

If you use a -4 line to the turbo you will have plenty of oil feeding the turbo. Make sure the oil drain always goes downward and enters the oil pan ABOVE the oil level.

Seen a few installations where the oil drainback went into the fuel pump block-off plate.

we checked flow with my oil pump primer . and the drain goes into the timing cover right above the pan. had a fitting welded in the side

This is a great build. The process documenting it is great for those of us who are trying to do the same. Doing the same thing with a 106 mm Garrett into a 79 trans Am

Question: Wher are you taking the oil supply from on the IA2 block?

Rob, your intercooler. What size is the core? My new air to air I'm installing is 24Wx12Hx4deep. Is that about the same as yours? Looks like it in the vid. Was wondering if anyone might have felt it could be a restriction? I ran my turbo on a chassis dyno using a smallish air to water and got 887 hp at the wheels, 1064 at the motor. But it struggled at the strip. Ran 10.6 @ 128 laying down on the top end. That's why I'm putting in the air to air.
http://videos.streetfire.net/video/F...DAY_643621.htm
This is the vid. My TA's the last 4 runs. The 788 hp and 744 tq on the first run was really on 10 pounds. The next 2 were on 12 pounds and the last was 15 pounds. But I could feel the engine stop pulling at around 5800. That's where I stopped the pulls. I'm curious if the air to air seemed to run OK for you? One reason I'm asking is the lower HP vs the higher torque. Forgot to add th esound is out of sync with th evid on the last two runs. But you can hear the engine straining to rpm any more when it hits the top of the scale. Mark L

When Dick Duclow first looked at making the IA-1 blocks, I asked him to put in a oil passage on the front of the block from the front main to the passenger side of the block (for a Vortech Supercharger oil feed line). You can also use this passage to read oil pressure at the front main on a race engine as the front main is the last one to get oil. Good oil pressure there, good oil flow at rpm.

The All Pontiac Block also has this oil passage.
