Screw Blower on a Pontiac
With the new parts we have why not a PSI screw blower on a Pontiac ?
Less power to turn it and more boost. A good starting point would be 12.5 compression ratio and 40 pounds of Boost. I see no reason a 500 ci. Pontiac with a screw blower would not produce some excellent power. Make sure you have a good tunner..... Marty P. P.S I still have sealings rings. ( you are going to need them) |

I didn't know you could slow a D or C rotor PSI down enough to make only 40 pounds of boost ! LOL
The C rotor make a bunch of steam....Last boost pressure data I saw was a 524 inch Hemi, it had 55 psi at the hit of the throttle and a tad over 60 psi in the lights...... I know that one of the things the Pontiac is lacking is a good flowing cylinder head that will deal with this kind of boost pressure. The latest and greatest BAE stuff (the 8) will flow around 600 cfm......also, the better running screw blown teams are running a bunch of rpm in the lights in order to lock the clutch up (or make the converter couple up better), 10,400 rpm is not unheard of. I'm not sure I want to try that with a Pontiac. Just yet. TQ |
