Default 71 T37 front spoiler?

Mine has a black spoiler hanging down under the front bumper, did these cars come with them or did the previous owner add it on? I've never seen a lemans at any car show with one yet. Looks to be the same as the 70 gto I think

Maybe I should have said "air dam" instead of spoiler?

Pontiac referred to this long L shaped piece as a BAFFLE. It was used on factory AC equipped Pontiac A-body's to help deflect the airflow. That particular style was used on '71 & 72's. Often the Plastic baffles are broken or missing. I ended up spending a little while carefully plastic welding the last few inches of one end back on the main piece, that is for my '71 HO Coupe.

Thank you for that information, so it was only on factory ac cars. Thats probably why I don't see it on many factory pics of t37s

Unfortunately, no repro's. If someone wanted to get adventurous, the baffle could be 3D printed. I imagine it would have to be 3D printed in several pieces, then the pieces would have to be bonded together.

Problem on finding a full intact baffle from a partscar is similar to the trouble of finding a near perfect front valance. Too many times a front valance was scraped up or smashed in & the baffle broken from previous owners poor parking or hitting an errant animal.

My 72 Lemans (factory AC) with T41 front has the baffle. But, it sits back a bit farther than what a chin spoiler does. I liked the look of the chin spoiler and put one on. Yes, it is from a 70. The original baffle is actually unnoticeable where it's located.
