Default Serpentine intine belt setup.

Hi: Anybody have any experience using a serpentine pulley system for power steering / alternator / electric water pump with an ATI super damper and MSD crank trigger ?

Looking at Meziere electric water pump and CVF serpentine belt/pulleys..

Thanks

I'm wrapping up the install on mine at this time. No crank trigger on mine. I went with their 300 amp alternator which is really a 320 Mechman. All in all very happy with the product. It would have been 100% satisfaction except the higher output alternator is slightly different dimensionally and I'm having to trim a mounting shim only slightly to get the pulleys in alignment. Had I gone with their standard 10 or 12SI unit would have been no issues.

I did have opportunity to call them a few times for customer support and I've been rather pleased in this regard as well. Each time I've called, I had been able to speak with someone and in all cases, someone knowledgable. All in all, I've been quite happy with their product and service.

For what it's worth, the Merzier water pump wiring coming out the bottom is a little close for my comfort to the crank pulley. Not sure if this is meaningful or not but I went with the higher output/heavy duty water pump. I believe the motor may be slightly larger but I'm not 100% certain on that. It can easly be remedied using an appropriate wire-tie/strain relief but I wasn't satisfied with this alone so I contacted Merzier. They advised that it is possible to reclock the pump motor such that the wiring exits more on a sideways angle. There is a little bit of a procedure for doing this but it's pretty simple. I'll probably tackle that later this weekend.

Thank you. That's exactly where I'm headed with our setup. Going to get rid of the V belt setup. Thanks for the pic too. Our's is going on a 68 Firebird 505 cu in IA2 block. Is that an IA2 block in the pic? If you get a chance can you verify part # WP103SHD as the Heavy Duty water pump? Thanks again for the info.

When you order from their website they give you some drop-down options. When you add it to your shopping cart it assigns the appropriate part number. One of the options is the heavy duty motor. The PN I ordered is; WP103UHD

I figured I would add some info here and maybe ask a few more questions. I have everything installed and now I'm wondering about belt tension. Have any of you guys ( Punkin, Judge3) or anyone else with serpentine belt setup purchased and used a Krikit Tension Gauge to check for proper belt tension?
I've been doing some reading on different setups, and from what I understand the setup from CVF racing is mechanical tension setup. They don't supply an actual spring loaded belt tension-er. The spec on these 8 rib belts call for 120-160 lbs. Thanks

Fairly easy to adapt a Ford Belt tensioner to the system.
Luhn Performance has added the tensioner on a lot of his set-ups.

120-160 lbs is not going to allow the water pump and the P/S / Alternator a long life.

Thanks Tom. You wouldn't happen to have any part numbers so I can look one up. There's so many different units to choose from. I'm gonna try a smaller belt today see if that cures it first. We had the car out yesterday for a quick run. Just a bit of belt squealing here and there, which tells me it's too loose. That 120-160 lbs came from Gates website using that Krikit tool. I was thinking of buying the tool see how it work.

I pulled a good one off the shelf in the garage. Part # is F7AE-6B209-AB

The Belt Tensioner pulley is a wide one, wide enough for a 10 rib belt.

A very heavy duty piece.
