This combo took years to get dialed in especially the suspension. I never ran it all out in all the years I have been racing it. I am always trying to go 10.00 for index races. I never thought it would run a 6.0 in the 1/8.
Wow that’s really impressive for that combo .
Everything is apparently matched and working together well

Good job!

It’s actually fairly similar to my car except I substitute the E heads w 70s era smog heads low compression and 11 psi boost 373 gear and a tight 3000 converter but still fairly similar.
Does the same thing just gets there a little differently.

E-head that where ported by Kauffman about 10 years ago. 72 cc flow 330 at .700. The cam is a Comp cam 278/282 at .050 lift is .652/.658 ground at 108 and installed straight up. Compression is right at 12.0-1.
I had a valve job on the heads last year and the machinist ground them with a 38 degree seat on the intake. Ever since then my 60's have been great. Usually 1.35 for a 10 flat.

Thats a nice combo. its obvious how much work you have put into your engine and car.
How high do you have to spin it ?
445 block or 400 ?
I hope you don't mind the questions. Building a engine not unlike yours myself. I hope it runs as good. Trying to do the same thing. 10 flat, see how far it can dip into the 9s before I upgrade the cert.

No problem. It is a 70 455 block out of a big car. Put aftermarket 4 bolt main caps with studs. I is a forged 455 crank. I shift at 6400 and go thru the traps about 6800 at 134.
If I want to run it all. out thru the 1/4 I will need taller tires or a 3.90 gear

Thanks for sharing the information. How tall of a tire are you currently running? I am running a 4:10 gear and I am looking to go with a taller tire. I am currently running a 29" tire.

Thanks,
Joe

Thank you. I was looking at getting a 30.5". That is probably the tallest that I can fit.

I plan to hit Capital Raceway (Maryland) this upcoming Saturday (11/20) with forecast temps ranging 27 - 48. This is using drag MT drag radials...doesn't look like any sunshine Saturday...
