Looks excellent. It's interesting to see that your '66 convertible frame uses the '68+ style front cross-member and is totally different than my '66 coupe frame. I didn't know there was a difference between convertible & coupe/hardtop in that area.

A 67 coupe has that same style of crossmember that's pictured, 65 -66 coupes have a welded on tab, maybe a convertible thing, not sure.

And there are 3 holes rather than 1.

The car is a Tripower, 4 speed, PS, PB, A/C, rally gauges. It is burgundy with parchment interior and white top. Only part of the drivetrain that has been restored is the differential. Hope to rebuild engine and trans over winter. I’m guessing I have at least another year before it is done. We are about to start construction on a sun room, bath, deck addition, so I’m sure that will generate plenty of distractions, hassles, delays on the car project.

Gonna be a neat car. Looks great so far!

My life sounds about the same as yours right now. Too many irons in the fire to get my car done. Good luck!

This was my first time having a frame powder coated instead of blasting and painting it myself. At $650 it wasn’t cheap, but I was pleased with the result. I picked Stone Black powder, which is very slightly glossier than Satin Black and it seems to leave a smoother surface. Also used it on most of the suspension pieces. I realize some of these may have originally been natural metal, but this is the look I decided to go with. I used info in Eric White’s book to recreate the spring and shock labels, replated the fasteners with zinc (I know some may have been black phosphate), etc. etc. I enjoy the detailing challenges and there will certainly be many more before this thing gets done.
