I think sales reflected the disappointment also. JMO
BVZ: You probably never got your neck snapped in a 71 Judge before lots of torque. I think that pontiac came up big in 71 with the 455 HO, add the Rockcrusher, and 12 bolt rearend. Then top it off with the nice ride and handling!

I like to refer to it as a "cat face" with an aggressive look. The kinky 70 hood was used for 3 years with those little nostrils, it was time to add some air to RAM AIR.

71 & 72 455 HO drivetrains were great !

But for some reason, the front end has never "grown" on me. It's probably just me, but they look too much like a Buick Skylark type of styling. Still would not have ordered one new even if I was a Canadian (oops).

No harm intended - especially considering what came out in 73 and 74. I have a 74 GTO bought cheap - but will never admit to it in person.

Baron:
I never thought you would have stooped so low. Now, when will you be getting that 73 goat that you have wanted to own for so long? No GTO collection is complete without both a 73 and 74.

Sawyer, I would tell you about the Blue/White 73 gto a guy on my street keeps trying to sell me - but if I told you here - everybody would be PM'ing me wanting to know more and offering me big finders fees and etc...

If he gets down to $150, I might make a move on it.

A 74 has promise, I like those but all the 73's can take a hike.

Baron post a pic of your 74, like to see what you got. Rough or polished.

I might can get a picture when winter sets in .

74 is Burgundy-ish color with white interior, trunk body, 4 speed & consolette, PS/PDB, numbers matching drivetrain complete. Wasn't too bad when I bought it ($250 or $300), was wrecked in front and needed left 3/4 front end. Functional Shaker was still there-engine ran good.

Left it at guys house I bought it from per his permission. Located necessary sheetmetal and grilles, etc... to fix car to GIVE to my little brother. Got call from guy - tree limb fell on car - come and get it soon.

Roof caved in and back glass busted out - was a REALLY BIG LIMB. Got it to my place and brother didn't want it anymore, it's been sitting in the DEEP BACK section of my parts cars for about 10+ years un-touched, un-seen and un-loved. Might not be pretty sight now. When all the honeysuckles and briars die back, I will get some pics. $5000.00 with clear title - genuine numbers matching GTO !

Steve: I might take a little less than 5,000 for whats left of that 74 Goat, I'll get you those pictures soon. ( )

*Did anyone find out anything about the Triple Black 71 Jvert picture posted*

My Brother was about 12 when the 74 Gto went down. Rough luck continued on the next car I was going to give him after that one. Cream Puff 56,000 actual mile 1 owner 74 Firebird I bought in about 85 for $800 as a driver. Real nice plain jane sorta kinda car.

Around 93 a customer called needing/looking for a super clean 74 factory A/C body- to use to re-body a heavy rusty bucket 74 S.D. Trans Am. Mentioned the Plain Jane to him in the convo, and he made an offer way too good not to accept - plus it was going to rescue a Super Duty. Poor lil Brother was only about 14 and had already lost 2 cars. (oops)

"Story Book Ending" He ended up getting my 79 T/A 400 4spd 4wheel discs - 2 owner car with a little over 80k miles and every option xcept t-tops. He was born in 79 and I turned 16 in 79 so I guess the kid had destiny on his side. Killer Car too. Didn't "give" him that one, but he got it for about what I paid for it back in 1986. DEEP Discount compared to offers I had for the Car.

Now all he wants is to someday have a 70 Orbit Orange Judge, I must have been a good influence on him. He grew up riding around in good Cars.

My father-in-law just sent a new "Old Cars 2006" calendar. Here is the March car (note trim rings and hood locks). Is this one of the cars on Steve's list? It's a stunning car, regardless. A guy from Ayden, NC is listed as the owner ...

D@MN that Car looks like a million bucks ! Or at least a quarter mill. I really like the 68-72's in White. Triple White is deluxe

Looks like a current NC safety inspection sticker on the windshield. And those might be 15x8 repo rally 2's on it. NICE CAR, I want the calender too.

If it werent for all the Canadians ordering Ram Air IV and 455HO Judges, we would all be scraping around trying to buy fewer cars these days. Give me a 71 HO Judge to drive over a IV car any day, anyone that knocks them either hasn't driven one or doesn't know how to drive!

It might be car 2 just by the colors and lack of snow flake wheels, but car 2 was last reported in Sweden. So my intial thought is that it's a clone, but you never know.

Could the guy that wrote me about car 14 in GA please get back in touch with me? I've deleted the email or PM and I have some questions.

Thank you.

It's surfaced for a "mere" $450,000. How come no one's commenting on this price? If it was CC then there'd be hollerin all over the place!

I first saw that car back in 1989, and although it didn't look that nice, it was a driver. Wish I had bought it off him back then........hindsight!

Based on the Brown car selling for nearly half as much as this car, I feel the price is definitely on the high side. And even restored, I don't feel it has the same value as Gary's old unrestored car.

Agreed!

Off track here but, you posted a picture showing a pace car vert sitting in the field - is that the car Gary pulled out of the resto shop and rolled off the trailer in disgust? The one that was supposed to get the "special" motor?
