Well I’ve always known my Tempest had a hard life but it’s apparently had at least 3 different length transmissions in it in its life. I mounted my crossmember today and and had to drill a FOURTH set of holes. I’m really not pleased about that but it is what it is. I used good grade 8 bolts and washers with blue loctite. It’s ugly but you can’t see it so I guess its ok.

Just in case you were wondering there is pros and cons to using M&H harnesses. Pro...they are plug and play and very easy to follow, Con...they are almost impossible to hide. They follow factory routing so my hopes for a totally wireless engine bay are dashed. Oh well it does not look bad they are just visible.

I know it was a GTO option only but I am putting the engine turned insert around the gauges in my dash because it just looks a lot better. All that black needs some lightening up

Some of the cars had A WOODGRAIN INSERT OVER THE SWIRL GTO DASH PLATE.
You could install a 65 Woodgrain dash piece and it would be unique like the very few
woodgrain dash inserts that I have seen over the years. The first woodgrain over the
swirl dash was a April Built car.

No Worries. Your car is a custom and the engine turned dash looks great. You didn't install an LS engine, so you you have a ton of artistic license you can use with your car! LOL...

I have tried everything but I can’t get my pictures to turn out. Nothing sexy or exciting going on here right now just wiring and doing little tedious details like getting sanding dust out of…well everywhere 😂. That radio has been completely gutted, rechromed, and all apple car play features except the screen obviously added including Bluetooth, no wires to dash but charging cable if needed. Now to hide the mic!

Wouldn't it be easier to connect the harness wires to the cluster on the bench and then put the cluster in?

Easier and less chance of scratching things up or getting something connected wrong while hanging yourself upside down?

I suppose you could do that but I have help at the present time to hold stuff so this just seemed easier. I have installed the tach etc before in another 64 I had years ago and this is how I did it. I don’t know which would be easier, this is just the way my brain works, plus I was able to mount the fuse box then snake the wires up behind the pedals etc. seems like a pain in the ass to get that fuse box down from the top

I am gonna admit a fault. I got a little too ambitious. I wanted to have the perfect car for me and I am on my way to that but this is a lot of **** to wire up. The Detroit speed wiper setup required a HUGE hole in the firewall that I was able to hide BUT I can’t hide the wiring or the huge motor. Getting a little crowded under here.
