You are overthinking it. Once you start taking the rings down you are opening yourself to make mistakes, a lot of them since you have a lot of rings.
I would polish the rings a little with very fine Scotch-bright, measure and go from there.
If you get a ring or two thinner than you would like you can not add metal back on. Just doing ring end gaps its not hard to take a little more off than you would like. The 2nd rings are much softer than the top ring if they are cast iron and go away much faster when you turn the wheel on your end gap tool.
Polish lightly with something soft, clean things up. If they fit nice, run it. Your engine will not know the difference.
