What Are These Leaf Spring Humps?
What are these humps on the rear half of my 77's leaf springs?
They kinda look like they'd perform a similar but light-duty effect as traction bars by reducing axle wrap. I don't really mind them being there, but the front-most plate that holds the hump in place is directly in line with the tire sidewall and reduces inner sidewall clearance to less than an inch with the stock 225 tires, which prevents me from using 275 tires. |

The poor mans alternative to new springs when the OEM parts need to be replaced, but the owned buys these add on parts to buy him some more time on the original parts.
For $33.99 you sidestep doing the job correctly, see link to Auto Zone: https://www.autozone.com/suspension-...ngs/541243_0_0 |

Or an additional forward leaf to act as a traction bar preventing spring wrap up-like Mopar Super Stock springs
