Default Finally ran it all out

Figured the last race for the year I would run it all out to the 1/8 Just so I didn't get kicked off my home track. Have been running 10.00 index all year with restrictor plates and weight to slow it up. Looks like chassis cert and a license coming next year. First pass ran a 6.06/111 with a 1.30 60'. Lifted at 1000' to a 9.74/120. 2nd pass ran a 6.04/112 with a 1.29 60' lifted after the 1/8 to run a 10.32/94. 3rd pass ran a 6.06/112 with a 1.30 60'. Lifted after the 1/8 to run a 10.25/100 and ran faster than my 10.30 dial in.
What a rush running it all out. Did not think it would be that fast. I am thinking high 9.5's to low 9'6's in the 1/4. Felt like it carried the wheels 60'.

Very nice Mike! I would agree with your 1/4 mi. guesstimate if running it all out.

Guess am too old but the whole idea of "breaking out" and brackets seems silly. Can take a faster car and use computer controls to dial in any speed desired. Add in traction control and "up in smoke" goes away. For a straight line with a wall, even the driver becomes superfluous. That just leaves breakage.

Heads-up racing is for the rich.

With "breakout" racing, others can play, & some tracks can stay open.

If it were not for bracket racing 90% of the tracks that are left would be gone.
Some of the best drivers are bracket racers.
Pay attention to the slips some of the heads up guys post. Great ET, fast MPH, nice car but the reaction times quite often are terrible.

I 100% agree, very few drag strips would be around even 20 years ago where it not for bracket racing!

Also a big congrats on the time slip!

thats because your NOT racing the guy beside YOU....you are racing YOU. (except for RT) You dial in a 8.23 and run a 824 crossing the stripe first with a RT of 017. Is wonderful....now do it 4 times in a row...you will take home some $$$. It's simple repeatability with 10000 variables...lol
With a 1.29 - 60 ft...you are hooking up VERY well...kudos!

Neither of these are allowed.

You realize, of course, even in the "halcyon days" of heads up class rating there were indexes, factoring and handicaps.

If you won your specific class the faster cars were handicapped to determine the "king of the hill" for the overall class.

The pen has always been mightier than the wrench, even for the "unlimited" categories.

Yes!

I've been watching your progress and I am impressed (and a little embarrassed about my performance).

It sounds to me that you actually have no idea what bracket racing really is. Computer controls are not allowed. I'm not sure what you would be refering to here. Traction controls are available but also NOT ALLOWED in bracket racing but the heads up guys can use it in some classes. Come to the track and actually find out what it's all about and you might realize it's a lot of fun to make passes and be competitive without spending $200,000. And you get to hang out with your buddies afterwards and have a few cold ones.
