A little end of season test/tune at Capitol Raceway in Crofton, MD
I went to the track today with temps in the mid - high 40s. There were two car clubs there but managed to get 5 runs in. Lots of 11 second cars there. I used MT 235 60 ET streets first at 25 lbs then down to about 22 lbs. I left car in drive for all runs and it shifts at about 5200 rpm. On engine dyno high HP was at 5373 rpm so some tweaking to do.
My best runs were 12.22 @ 112 mph and 12.25 at 113 mph. The 12.25 run I spun through the 60’ but the launch felt best out of all the runs. Overall had lots of fun and it’s the first time to track with this engine. 12.22 @ 112 mph run: https://youtu.be/mMQa4OmapXE 12.25 @ 113 mph run: https://youtu.be/jmc_Q_mGs4o

those seem like great dyno numbers, did you have headers or manifolds on dyno?

Headers and a 950 hp carb. The Sniper is only 800 cfm so thinking about moving up to the xflow which is advertised at 900 cfm.

Sounds good, Will. How far "just south of Baltimore" are you? You cruising to Deale on Thanksgiving Day for the pie run?

Hi Brian - I’m in Jessup (AA County side). Just heard of the pie run last week - what time does it wrap up? Have some work to put in at home in the kitchen to help my better half and if I can pull off both I will!

I agree - it has the factory shifter and has that “dual gate” type function where you can lean the shifter to the right run through 1-2-3. I haven’t learned how to use it so kept it safe. I may play with weights in governor for higher shift point.
Edit- just found this link on how to use it: https://youtu.be/_XOF7l4Cv7M

Try 16 to 18lbs in the tires next time out. All of our cars like that pressure zone. 66 lemans, 71 T/A and 86 firebird. Nice numbers. Looks like it's running great.

Big fun, Chris! Can’t wait for the spring time to do again. ET was what I was hoping/expecting based on combination of parts and first time out with the combo. I see you’re knocking on the door of an 11 second pass!

Your track having timing issues that day or is it the norm for them to only print the 60’, 1/4 and mph?

Not sure why the printing issues…this track had been closed for several years and reopened this summer by Hurricane Racing Tours. Nice people but to say they are disorganized would be an understatement.

It's an early gathering. In years past I've gotten up early and trekked down there to get there by 7:30am as it's roughly an hour drive from the Glen Burnie area, and if you're not there early there's no place to park. It's usually wrapped up by 10-10:30am. They're calling for sunshine and a high of 60 Thanksgiving Day so it looks like the weather will cooperate. I've been down there when it was 70 and we were sweating in our winter jackets, and I've been down there when it was colder than a well diggers butt in the Klondike with spots of salt on the roads here and there.
