Is it possible to use a draw-thru carb on a twin-screw supercharger?
Weighing some options for a boosted 350, and the only example of a carbureted whipple style supercharger I've found is this one: https://www.hardin-marine.com/p-8129...dard-deck.aspx
Now I know that roots blowers have been using draw thru's for decades, but roots and screw superchargers work differently. Roots pressurize the air/fuel mixture in the intake manifold and screw boosters pressurize it inside itself and are designed for EFI. Would sucking fuel into a screw compressor like that be asking for the supercharger to turn into a bomb? EFI would be easier, yes, but a draw thru is cheaper, so you can spend the extra money on better parts that won't fail. I've read forums where some people hated their draw thru and some people that never had problems with them.

Mr Art Whipple and his son Dustin, have been doing Screw Superchargers for many years.
https://www.lethalperformance.com/sh...uperchargers-1 I helped one of our PY members purchase a Whipple Supercharger for his race car several years ago, Maybe 10 years ago. Art or Dustin could tell you if their superchargers are compatible with Draw Thru Carb applications. Whipple and Screw Superchargers are more efficient in moving the air into the engine and have a much higher Supercharger rpm capability. Example 12,000 S/C rpm for the Roots and 18,000 rpm for a Whipple. This means the pressure ratio can be higher for the same engine rpm because the efficiency does not drop off at high rpm. Tom V. I have not spoken with them in years but Art or Dustin might remember me, "The Ford Research Supercharger Guy"
