Yeah something like that. But it can be tricky getting the female connector out of the block. Use a paperclip or a tiny flatblade screwdriver. If you do it right it will save the cip on the connector and it'll lock back in when you put it where it goes for the tail light connection. Just don't force it trying to get it out.

Default Works on Corvette Too!

I tried this on my '67 Corvette coupe and the switch is the same. Now I have headlights and parking lights on simultaniously too! Very cool! I think most of the GM headlight switches pre-'69 must be similar, so this should work for most cars.

Great idea, Thanks PY!

Glad to hear it worked on a Vette too. As you, I surmise it it should work on the pre-68 GM switches. I might be wrong but I believe 68 was the first year for headlights and parking lights coming on together. I'll pass it on to the Vette guys I know around here.

If it doesn't work then there could be a different switch used as a replacement, or a wiring problem. I have seen a 65 GTO where it worked just fine. The switch was the same as the one in my 66. Only the Pk light location was changed from 65 to 66, wiring should be the same. Not heard yet if anyone has done it on a 64 and it works.

Gary,

For what it's worth, while watching a recent post about 67 GP light switch, it will not work on those. That switch is different and would require a strap or a diode to do this function.

Great mod guys! Been thinking of doing this for years to my 67's, but just never got around to it. After seeing the thread today, I did both of my cars in about 5 min each. Wow! Super easy and very worth while. I REALLY like the look. Thanks so much for posting the mod...

Big MAHALO!!!! I finally got around doing this to my 66 and from start to finish 10 mins tops and I love the look, still keep the evil look with the parking light only and now with the added safety of them on with the headlights.

Makes em look like a GTO should at night with both on. They should have come from the factory that way, but for some dumb reason they didn't. Glad you like the looks of it Lordtyman.

Gary - If I hook my parking lights up, will my car get all pixelated like yours in a photo?

For all I know that could be a tempest with GTO grilles

I try and make do with what I have, I can't afford those high end cameras you guys have that make perfect pictures. And no, your probably thinking about someone else's GTO.

C'mon Gary, I was just funnin' with ya. I don't have a fancy camera either. I take pictures with my cell phone.
