Default 3/8-24 all threaded bolt Grade 8

Long story short, got my umi lower control arms, they supply a 4 inch bolt to hook you end links into.............seems i need one maybe 5-6 inches long. Umi suggested getting a longer bolt.............so far i cant seem to locate one, not sure im putting the info properly in the puter...........can anyone help out here.

Just to be clear, it must be all thread

Not likely to find a bolt like that.
What about a piece of all thread.
You could tack weld a nut on 1 end. or use red lock tight.

When I was on that page it had them to 6" or so?

EDIT:

You are right, after a certain length they went to partial.

Try this for the all thread:

Although "all thread" type rod can be used and will work, it shouldn't be necessary. When you are building up your "sandwich" of the 4 bushings and washers, it often looks likes it's impossible to get a nut started. However, the "sandwich" is operated in tension. Have an assistant with a long bar pry down on the stabilizer bar near the end and then you can usually get the nut started. once started, it will quickly compress the bushings and go together without leaving a long, ugly stud end hanging out. Good luck.

Another thought on this, can you take a longer partially threaded grade 8 bolt and have a machine shop make it into a full threaded bolt.

Fastenal lists a 5 1/2" but calls it a tap bolt.

I see now. I assumed you had stock links. I think 3/8-24 hardened all thread rod would work fine in this application.

Now I see .... if you absolutely cannot find the right bolt ... I'd use the grade 8 rod with a nut TIG welded to the top.

Hey thanks Mike & dataway...............i can get the threaded rod but they said two weeks out.............i did find a 5 1/2 grade 5 at Fastenal.........any thoughts on that one.

So i take it you cant take a longer grade 8 bolt that is partially threaded and get a machine shop to make it into a total thread.
