Alternator Question
Does anyone know how many amps the 10SI series alternator put out in the 1977 Trans am? I want to do a rebuild on it and don't know what to order. There's no air conditioning or power windows but I still want to refurbish the alternator to original. Suggestions for a quality rebuild kit would be appreciated. I want to keep the original.

The original should have the amps stamped on the case. Without AC probably 37A or 42A

According to Wallace racing, without AC or rear defog, 37A. If you have rear defog, then 55A. I have had good luck buying alternator parts from https://alternatorparts.com.
