Default Alternator Help Please

The housing on my 1977 Delco Remy alternator cracked. Its beyond welding. Can anyone suggest a place where I can buy the original housing or the alternator for that year. Most respectfully and thank you in advance.

Best bet would be posting your alternator date/codes on PY.
Lots of them may be floating around.

I would recommend posting the current damaged alternator part number. A wanted post in the parts wanted section with that info. If you need a specific date code, that would need to be provided as well. Search EBAY as well for a core or rebuilt unit..

You may want to buy a parts store alternator to get back on the road. Then do the search for the proper part number/date code unit which could take months. When you do find one it will probably need to be rebuilt.
The advantage will be having a spare when you do find the right one.

Which housing end is it? the pulley end housing has the numbers on it and as stated above if you want a suitable dated replacement the numbers will be needed. If it is the rear housing it should be no problem to find one of those. A pic would be nice

Default Thanks Everyone

"Brian" reached out within one day and sold me exactly what I needed for an original alternator housing. Thanks again for all the suggestions.

Default Alt & Steering Brackets

I have a 77 Trans am and looking to put a 670 or 12 heads on the 400. The original bracket of the 77 Alternator and power steering will not fit. The bolt that has to go thru the Alt bracket, alt, sleeve, Steering bracket to the top of the head is not there to the 670/12 heads.
Is there a alternative bracket to install the Alt/Steering or will a bracket system for a 1970 Pontiac 400 fit?
