theres a thread on this page discussing decal placement on these cars, the exact locations of the shaker & body names varied from car to car but here is the diagram showing specs... anything close to these locations is fine.

No need. If someone else has already spent their money, they may as well spend their time finding, scanning and uploading for those less fortunate in bothering.

I'm pretty sure the '78 doesn't have a call out on the shaker. Nor does it have a "Trans Am" decal on the front bumper or bird decal on the sail. The sail gets a metal bird. '78 is a weird year for decals...

78 definitely has the decals on the shaker... but no decals on the front bumper or sail panel.

BASE 180 HP Pontiac 400 equipped 1978 Trans Ams did not have a shaker decal.

I respectfully disagree, No original '78's have them regardless of engine. I bought mine brand new (and still have it)and it didn't have them. Mine has them now because when the '79's came out I had to go to the dealer and order a set, luckily they are the same font and color. Mine has the W72 option and I know for a fact there is no "T/A 6.6" shaker decal for '78.

Also, the '78 doesn't have the front bumper "Trans Am" decal either. I always thought WTF...'77's have both, '79's have both...Not only do they have both but they both have "T/A 6.6" (obviously T/A 6.6 is for 4spd cars in '79) and "6.6 Liter".

I had a 1978 gold T/A with a T/A 6.6 motor and it had a T/A 6.6 decal on the shaker. I bought it used 2 and a half years old, 20,000 miles on a Pontiac dealers lot. I am pretty sure it was original.
