Default Silverado glove box door

Trying to clean the truck up and after all these years the glovebox door has places where knees and legs have rubbed it and the finish is coming off. Can you take it off and sand it down and vinyl dye it? If so what brand and where to get? It’s a 2005. I don’t want to just buy a replacement door because of all the option sticker on the inside. I want all that to be correct.

I believe SEM makes a paint for that in the correct color.
