Default Hydraboost Units

Hi: Anybody purchase a Hydraboost Brake unit in the past 4 months? Wondering if any suppliers have them.

Thanks

I've had one on order since Dec 2020. Seems the Bosch units are in short supply.

Thanks

I need to order a Bosch unit too. With all of the ECOBOOST engines in vehicles out there the demand for the units is very high from the OEMS.

Ya I’ve tried two different vendors. Nothing to date.

Thanks Tom

Did you check with Hydratech? They're probably behind as usual (I heard one of their top techs left), but they might be able to steer you to a vendor, like MCBparts, who order a bunch at a time...the units are often spoken for but you might get lucky.

Maybe source one from a salvage yard? They're incredibly common in Astro vans.

I put one in my 70 lemans from a Avalanche and it was pretty easy. The firewall mount I purchased off the internet,
cut the input from the brake pedal and the head off of a fine thread bolt and welded it to the shaft and used the end off the original booster and it went very easy. I also added a return to my power steering pump instead of a "T". I would do the same again. I taped off and painted the unit and ALMOST looks factory. I added a power steering cooler just in case different opinions on many for this upgrade it works extremely well.

Thanks, I've looked at a few online that are rebuilt, but shied away from a rebuilt. I've also heard that the Astro van ones are the units to use. Thanks again.

Nice job Paul. Thanks for taking the time to post. I'm gonna look into these units from Chevy Vans down the road. I did the same as you. I added a return line to the pump. I also added a cooler. I already have a Hydraboost unit in my 76 T/A and they work incredibly well.

Buddy of mine has one on his '75 T/A with a 455 Butler Pontiac in it. He says "that sumb!tch stops so hard it'll throw you through the windshield if you're not strapped in".

Lol, Yes the one on my T/A is right up there with the best upgrades to the car along with the TKO-600 and the Hydraulic clutch.. It will definitely stop the vehicle. Thanks Brian.

Years ago, I bought mine from http://www.custompowerbrake.com/
Pedal feel and brake (4 wheel disc) operation are as good as any modern car I’ve driven.

I have a HydraTech setup for sale, brand new, mocked it up once, never had fluid in it, has the upgraded lines and coatings. It's a 'Street Prep' with the gold anodized accumulator cover, and a matched disc/disc master.

I literally was about to post it on eBay....

Well I’m sure someone might grab it on here. I bought one already. Suppose to ship this week. Shouldn’t be hard to sell as there in short supply everywhere. Thanks

Smart, I had issues getting a hydroboost unit on my GMC square body some years ago. Had to try 3-4 different ones to get a non-leaker and then it would start leaking within 16-18 months. New is the way to go.
