Default Part Problem... Part # R129TX

Take note of a problem in the new catalog (G34):

The new kit they now have for the dual master cylinder conversion for front drums to disc, Part # R129TX, is for power brakes only. The bracket and lines for the proportioning valve will not work for manual brakes as it will hit the inner fender and you can not bolt the MC up to the firewall. For manual brakes you need the bracket for under the master cylinder and U-shaped lines for the MC to the PV.

Usually Ames is great, but not when what you need is out of stock for a couple of weeks.

Default

I talked to Kevin from Ames at the Pypes show yesterday. He said they'll look into it and add changes to the catalog for what's need for the manual brake conversion. He understood the problem and that this kit, as shown in the catalog, is for power brakes.

Reviving this older thread: Current R129TX kit has instructions that make it sound like you remove the booster and do not replace it, sounding like it would only be for manual brakes. Catalog still says for power and manual (just full 4-wheel drum or 4-wheel disc). I have booster and plan to add this master cylinder. Anybody have successes/failures with it? Thanks!
