Default Tachometer leads

Hey guys - Trying to see if this tach works. Unsure of the leads. One from the coil to the insulated lug on the back? Are one of the other 2 nuts to provide a ground connection? FWIW: Case has a very faint stamp: 12v 8 cyl. Thanks !

Yes. Lug attaches to minus side of coil

Case can be grounded anywhere convenient

Just FYI, that tach was designed to read off of a points distributor. It will not work or read accurately off of anything modern such as GM-HEI or pertronix.

If you wire it to something fully electronic and/ or modern it will likely damage the circuit board. If the pointer moves at all, it will be off by as much as 300 up to 900 RPM, (the error increases with the revs.)

Hooked it up to the Goat w/points, no movement. More stuff to the grim (recycle) reaper

Sent PM about possible path to repair. Forum member george kujanski sent me a schematic many years ago (I'm still grateful!) and I was able to get my tach working by replacing the original circuit board with a home-wired.
