Default 66 tail light gasket

Attached photo is one of the tail light gaskets I salvaged from my car. Evidently, this gasket fits between the die cast tail light housing(where the three bulbs snap into place) and the rear body panel. Is that correct? There appears to be no gasket between the tail light lense and the die cast housing. Is that correct?
