Default What have you bought with your Stimulus Check? (Keep thread non-political please)

Got my Torq-Thursts with the last one. Going to get my tires for them with the next one.

Sure is comforting knowing the taxes deducted out of my pay check every month bought people critical items like rims for there collector cars. Try not to forget there are people on this board that worked their butts off so you could get that check and received nothing in return. Your welcome...
Sorry pal, but there it is....

"...received nothing in return..."

I thought most all those in the lower middle class income bracket & below got one of those checks.

"...Who Is Eligible For A Stimulus Check?
U.S. citizens and resident aliens who meet income requirements and who cannot be claimed as a dependent on another person’s tax return are generally eligible. Income is based on your 2019 adjusted gross income (AGI). Individuals earning under $75,000 and heads of households under $112,500 typically qualify for the full $600 stimulus payment. Those married and filing jointly or surviving spouses earning under $150,000 usually qualify for a $1,200 payment.

If you exceed the income requirements, you may still receive a reduced stimulus payment, but the $600 payment phases out completely at $87,000 AGI for individuals and $174,000 AGI for couples filing jointly..."

My wife & I together never made anywhere close to $100,000, much less $150,000. So, for you guys who make more than that, count your blessings.

I bought cordless chainsaws & string trimmers/brush cutters, for trail clearing, & clean-up of storm downed trees. Bought some on credit cards ASSUMING the $1400 would get here before the monthly payment is due. Just passed in the House. Not likely to pass the Senate, as is. No, I'm not gonna get political. So there is absolutely NO reason for this post to cause the thread to be locked or deleted, IMO.

I appreciate you pointing out the fact that I apparently work too hard. Not saying y’all don’t.
That said who am I tell someone how to spend my money.
Anyway, you are correct, I too come here to get away from it all and it just struck a raw nerve. Fwiw I did try to delete it.
I will cease fire and return to the shadows.

What bayou are you near? We live about seven miles West of Beaumont near the Pine Island Bayou and we too were flooded in '17. We put a big big pad in to build the house on but got an inch of water in the house anyway and were really lucky compared to most with only that. My shop, which is 30x60, got probably
2 1/2 foot of water in in. Didn't put as much dirt on the shop pad - big mistake there!

Didn't ask for the money, didn't need it, but have paid taxes for 40+ years and never taken a dime from the government ... so yeah I'll take that check.

I put all mine in savings ..... but I will be taking it back out to pay the $2000 in income tax I owe this year ... imagine that .. they give me the money to stimulate me, and I have to give it back to stimulate them.

Usually you have to go a brothel to see this much stimulation

Banked it all. Stayed employed throughout, thankfully. Let's see how taxes shake out.
