Default 73 TA Idler Arm

Looking for an NOS idler arm for a June built 73 TA. Can anyone confirm the part number for me so I can try and track one down?

Thanks,
Tim

Good luck, I think the nos ones were replacements and not the same as an original anyhow. I would just restore an original.

Doesn't the original have a 1 inch hex nut on the bottom where the grease fitting is? Can it be disassembled and repaired? If I recall correctly the one from my 72 and the one from my 74 looked the same.

Sorry about the photo size. But this is my 72 idler arm. I think the part number is 7809560. I did manage to take it all apart, the frame bracket unscrews (reverse thread) from the idler arm. The bushing unscrews from the arm. I guess the threads wear into each other over time and only a new bushing and frame bracket would restore the part. This one is fairly worn as I can wiggle the bracket and arm by hand.

Thanks for the pic, Mike. Your picture matches the one that is on my '73. I figured that it was an aftermarket part with the big hex nut. Is this correct for a late 73 TA?

This part was merged into a new number # 7809561 and used for 70-75 , All with short outer and long inner tie rods.
# 7814488 is the whole assembly with support and bushing ( not just the Rod)
This was used from 72 till sometime in 75 ( I am guessing) when they went to equal length inners and outters.
