I'm trying to replace the return gas line on my 77 Trans am. I don't know how it routes from the fuel pump to the passenger side. I don't have the original line and hope someone can help. Don't know if it follows 76 or 78 specs? A picture would be fantastic, and I would be forever grateful. Respectfully

I checked my 77TA - its kinda hard to get good pics - the fuel pump return line leaves the pump and goes up on?near? the driver's side subframe rail- then routes under the engine (on main engine cross member - passenger brake line also routes on same engine cross member) - both fuel return line and brake line come up to the top of engine cross member/passenger side subframe rail - brake line goes down to passenger caliper - fuel return line runs on top of passenger side subframe rail and runs down the top of rail - and then goes to side of subframe rail - runs down side of subframe rail and then on to car body - near rocker ...note, the fuel return line and the gas tank vent line run together for much of their routing.
. So I think a 77TA fuel return routing is the same as 78. I am not sure how a 76TA is different. |

I think Ames sells the fuel return line , see https://www.amesperf.com/parts/searc...el+return+line
. I have used Right Stuff main fuel and return lines on a 2nd gen TA and been pretty happy. Maybe Amex fuel lines are Right Stuff ? |
