Default 78 Firebird heater hoses

I have a 78 Firebird Formula non-A/C 305. Going to redo the heater hoses, as I feel they are run too close to the engine. Couple questions. First off, what are the hose sizes and is there a correct length for each hose. Second, should there be some kind of bracket that holds them to the inner fender well? What would be the correct part if so, and does anyone have any pics? I searched the web for awhile and couldnt find anything usable.

A GM service manual might have sizes... but its easiest to just match up what you have on there now, they are common sizes like 5/8 or 3/4. You will have to cut to the length you want if you want to run them different than what they are.

I cant say for sure on a chevy engine firebird but on most other engines the heater hose has a bracket off the passenger side head to hold it, they dont attach to the wheel well. A GM manual will have diagrams for proper routing, or should be able to find pics on the interwebs.

The GM manual shows pics of all the engines/ w/hoses, and routing.

3/4 is the return, 5/8 is the inlet. Service manual should show the correct routing and bracketry.
