My May 77 build Trans Am is a Cameo White car. It has the Charcoal graphics on it (no bird) which I found on another site is the color scheme for the body color (no customer choice)
The same article also said that a white car would get the white insert body side moldings if so equipped. But this car purchased new in June 1977 in Addison Texas had black inserts in the moldings Does anyone know if that was a customer choice? They were not dealer added since they are shown in the PHS documents. Here's a photo of it taken in August 1977 showing the black moldings. Thanks! |

In 79 it was the buyers choice. When I ordered my 79, the salesman specifically asked what color side molding I wanted. I'll bet the same thing occured in 77.

I don't remember being asked on my 78 but it came with black-but was a black car. Deleted it when I repainted it.
