Default Frame notch results

I notch the frame on the 67 gto 2" last year. I finally got the new quarter panel skins on and painted. The old ones where hacked up and flared out. Had to by new rims with more offset. I went with a 10" rim with 7.5" offset. Tire is 315/60 radial. 11.5 tread 13.3 sidewall and a tad over 30". I have room for a section width of 15". The only thing is I should have got a 7" offset rim. I ended up having to use a 1/2" spacer the get the tire in the middle of the tub.
Once the car gets together I will be lowering so the wheel well is to the top of the rim.

Looks good! I wish I would have done that before I got mine painted. "64's really need the room! I guess I could still pull it off. Be a little nervous of screwing up the paint somehow.

That looks good ,.. what rear end are you using for your car with 7-1/2" back spacing...

I just notched / mini tubbed my 1964 lemans frame and Im using a 1966 chevelle
12-bolt rear end which is the short one 54-1/4" width outside the backing plates that matches the same length as the old 10-bolt...

I have not put my body back on yet, but I do have an extra 2" to play with, hoping to get a 325-50-15 under it or just go with a 275-60-15 on a 15"x10" rim maybe 6" back spacing..
The rear end length would play a factor into the back spacing of the wide rear rim that would be chosen for someone's car application..

Some guy's are using 1971 and up 10- bolt's or 12- bolts that are wider than the stock factory 64-70, 10-bolt's, that are 54-1/4" outside the backing plates,..

I believe the 71' and up rears are 55 3/4" outside the backing plates...

I have a Chevelle 12 bolt. Not sure what year. Old rims where 5.5" offset and put the tires about 1/4 off the frame. To get the old tires (29.5X10.5 slicks) to fit the quarters where pushed out 1.5". Thus the reason for new quarters and a frame notch. Looks and fits a lot better.
