No official word yet but the rumor is it's in the works and the plan was to go with the same tracks as the 2020 schedule. As far as dates go, it has always started the Monday after Labor Day which would make it Sept. 13-17 with registration/tech day on the 12th. Also, those pre-registered in 2020 would get an advance chance to pre-register for 2021.

That has been the case so far. Drag Week has always had open spots at the end of registration/tech day.

On average how many miles are driven during the week?
How do you guys make sure the cars aren't messed with while at the hotel?

Yep, supposed to be 1000 miles but I've seen as much as 1400. The last couple years it's been a little short of 1000. In 2018 they made a midweek change because of the inbound hurricane and 2019 because they knew the traffic could be very bad and cause excessive drive times.

Get hotels as close to the track as possible and don't cheap out and get one in a not-so-good area. Also, like Darby said, there's usually lots of racers coming in late and many up early to help keep an eye on things.

Or.............. Pulled in to Indy in 2015 early in the morning around 6:30 to try and get a good place in line. Jeff Lutz was outside the gate sleeping in his car. He'd had some problems and driven all night to get there. Priceless. Wish I'd taken a pic.
