Default 389 Tall Valve covers

Not sure if these are available anywhere as I have not been able to find any. Don't really have time to tig up a set right now but will if I have to.

Looking for a set like Randy Williams ran on his SD Wagon Build in the attached picture. These are going on a 421 SD clone build so I want the 389/421 look without spacers.
Anyone seen a set of these? I am sure Randy's were fabricated out of 2 sets.

Thanks Steve, but I am looking for the Pentroof type that came on the 389/421's. Don't have to be chrome as I am going to paint them anyway.

"pent-roof" valve covers, interesting subject. Personally I had no clue about them.

I have never seen a steel or Aluminum tall 389/421 style available off the shelf.

Mike,Scott Tiemann made those valve covers for Randy. What you want is a set of 63 421 SD covers. They were reproduced for awhile.Ames sold them at the end.You can run 1.65 H&S rockers under them without a spacer.Wish I had a Xtra set I could sell you. They were taller and had a flt top pentroof.PM me a smart phone number and will shoot a pic of mine.Tom

Do you notice the bump in the middle of the flat pentroof? Those were made from a NOS set that I loaned Barry Martin to remake them and they left the bump when the molds were made.Ames bought the molds from Barry I was told and they gave up on them and I guess destroyed the molds.Bummer.Tom

A set of the Mr.Gasket covers, with trimmed 389 shells welded or epoxied on top of them would look about identical to those pictured on the SD Wagon.

Good Luck with whatever you decide to do about it.
