So I was looking at the event page and noticed that track gives #s in the linders lot then u can go into the track from 8am till 3:30 then again after 8pm on Thurs but can't get into the track till Fri? What's up with that? Seems kinda gay but I've never been soo.... Fill me in please. Y can't u just get into the track?

I was planing on leaving early Thurs am from MA and its about a 12 hr drive.
Would I have to get a # Thurs and sleep in my truck or go to hotel and come back Fri am?

If your their Before 8 PM at Linders Lot , they will let you into the track, after that yes you will have to wait for Friday Morning.

They just changed this two years ago, you used not to get in till Friday morning even if you were at Linders on Thursday.

It use to be Linders lot opened at noon on Thursday so you can get in line for when the actual track opens on Friday morning ( you get a number when you pull in). Majority of the people just stay there for the night turning it into a giant field party. They still do the same thing except now Linders lot is opened at 8am on Thursday instead of noon. Then they start selling credentials and releasing participants inside the track at 3,4,5 that afternoon and start allowing you into the track. This eliminated the bottleneck that would occur on Friday morning plus it allows for the racing on Friday to get started earlier without people running over it each other getting in the pits. There will be at least 200 cars waiting Thursday morning to get in. At 8pm on Thursday, they quit selling credentials and letting people in the track then just revert back to how it use to be. You just then hold up in Linders for the night and until they resume selling credentials Friday morning. So if you get to the track after 8pm and you do not have your credentials (arm bands) you will not be able to get inside the gates of the track. You will have to then park over in Linders and either stay there for the night or go to a hotel if you wish or can find one. People either sleep in their trucks, trailers, RV's, tents or in a ditch where their friends might leave them when they pass out.

If you had your choice, where would you stay out of this list?

Hampton inn but they are all over priced and some nasty. Pull up Trip Advisor and do some reading taking it with a grain of salt depending upon your standards. I'm trying the Econolodge 3309 Milan Rd, Sandusky this year, it has good reviews and was cheap. My expectations are just looking for a clean place to sleep.

Happy Hunting!

We're staying at Econo Lodge the Thursday night. Then camping at the track Friday and Saturday. Not sure which car we're bringing yet. Either racing 2000 TA. Or showing 68 Firebird. I should have my new truck by then to tow my trailer.

I guess I need to decide soon about getting to Norwalk, so I can let you know about joining your caravan.

I'm hoping you can come. I'd love to spend some time discussing your engine project. Boss Bird will run once Saturday and once Sunday.

Yeah we can possibly do that. My son does most of the driving usually on that trip. He tends to move along pretty good.
